Ever wonder how the Huntsville area housing market is doing? Whether you are planning to buy, sell, invest, or relocate this data may prove valuable in helping you make a decision about your next purchase or sale.
Summary: July 23, 2008
While many areas of the country are experiencing plummeting home prices, the Huntsville area market remains strong with median prices remaining fairly solid as compared to most other locations. The average selling price for 2008 remains higher than the selling price one year ago. Tightened lender restrictions have effected the Huntsville market, primarily increasing the average days on market and decreasing the number of homes sold. However, while homes in 2007 sold at an average of about 90% of asking price, homes for 2008 are selling at an average of about 97% of asking price.
